Mr. Stinky Breath

The Mr. has become the most recent casualty of my super sniffer. About a week ago, I woke up in the middle of the night (as is my wont, or rather, my bladder's), inhaled deeply, and gagged.

The offender? My husband's breath.

I figured maybe it was the Taco Bell we had for dinner that night, tilted his head to the other side, and fell back asleep.

Every night since then, it's struck again. And it's not just in the middle of the night -- sometimes I catch a whiff when we're watching TV, or he's giving me a hug, or certainly during more, um, private times. I ask him to brush his teeth, and it doesn't help. And I know he's got good dental hygiene -- gets his teeth cleaned regularly, brushes and flosses and all that good stuff.

Certainly other things continue to offend my nose to a heightened degree (hello, public transportation and work refrigerator), but this particular case is ever so slightly more inconvenient. I mean, how are we supposed to take care of business during these last weeks of relative peace and quiet? It's not like the belly hurdle isn't already making things a bit challenging in that department.

Which shall likely be a topic for a whole 'nother post.....

Still laughing. My DH made the mistake of eating PICKLES before bed in my first trimester. I gagged at the beginning of the night, finally fell asleep and woke up in the middle of the night gagging and vomiting. He had to sleep on the couch- NO MORE PICKLES! But, seriously, I think my sniffer has gotten a little better since then though I still notice similar issues here and there...it is hard to be intimate when the nose is acting up. So, this is where I have to sympathize with our husbands...can you imagine how mortified we'd be?...but it still sucks. I have absolutely no advice...if you come up with any solutions, please let me know!!!

No only did I find this post hillarious...but oh so familiar. I had the exact same issue with my DH (and just about everyone else) while pregnant. I could not stand his breath in my face AT ALL! It made me gag...and it didn't even have to smell...I just couldn't take it....he either had to hold his breath or no kissing...EVER. And...I am sad to say...that to a certain extent that has remained post pregnancy....not so bad...but every now and again I will get a flash back and my tummy will turn. Sad, but true....and funny too!

that is too funny, i hate it when i wake up in the middle of the night and my husband is mouth breathing right in my face, i usually maneuver my pillow so it covers his mouth. i saw your blog on iclw, i don't sign up anymore because i'm pregnant but sometimes i still look at the list to find other preggo infertiles!
