Eviction notice

I know it's still 9 days until my due date, but we served our first eviction notice on the chicklette last night.

One of our local pizza joints, Skipolini's, has this concoction called the "Prego Pizza." It's rumored to have some sort of legendary labor-inducing properties. I put down 3 slices of this legend, and needless to say I am still here, not in labor. Although I would now like to be evicted from my own body, as I deal with the aftermath of 6 different kinds of meat, plus extra garlic and onions. Ugh! (I have a couple of slices left over in the fridge, and am debating whether I can handle eating it for lunch. I'm thinking no, but we'll see. Pizza is pizza.)

Other things we've tried this weekend: walking, yoga, pressure point massage, and yes, sex. Well, sort of sex. There's not really room for any extra people in there right now, so we sort of improvised. Which was nice, except the baby seemed a little TOO into it, if you know what I mean. She shouldn't be thinking about these things for at LEAST 18 more years.

It's not that I don't love hosting our little nugget, or that I've had a particularly terrible time of it or anything. But I'm cranky and uncomfortable, and ready to have this childbirth thing over with so that I can start obsessing about other things. I'm sure I will look back and think I was crazy to ever want to give up this tranquil end-of-pregnancy waiting period, but I guess maybe I've had enough waiting at this point (a sentiment that I'm sure many readers can identify with).

So, anyway, here I wait. With a heart full of anticipation, and a tummy full of meat.

I think at this point in your pregnancy you are allowed to complain about the discomfort of it all! I don't know about a pizza full of meat! That gives me heartburn just thinking about it!
Way to get a little nookie going 38weeks pregnant. You are my hero!

A friend of mine tried castor oil. I'm not pro induction/pro early birth (even by 9 days) but, from what I've heard, castor oil is pretty nasty but works.

You are so brave to eat those 3 slices of pizza! I swore off pizza recently because the heartburn is just too bad to justify the taste of it. Unfortunately, she'll come when she is good and ready. There are days like today that I wish I had the factor that I could deliver late. I'm 31 weeks and having pre-term contractions... not fun!

We tried everything - but the little guy just wasn't ready to come out any earlier than he had to! Good luck! I can't wait to hear about your little girl's arrival.

Awwww...your cute little tenant is having a ball with all the pizza and sex, why would she want to move out? I keep thinking that while I was doing all those IF treatments, 40 weeks seemed so short to me. I mean, since it took several years, 40 weeks is nothing, right? But, as I'm learning, 40 weeks is a long time!!!! I have 10 left to go and feel wonderful but am still anxious to have this baby out and in my arms! (though, again, still hiding my head in the sand about the labor and delivery nonsense!)

Can't wait to hear your story and meet your little one!!!

I plan on hitting Skipolini's if necessary in the next couple of weeks myself! Not sure how you feel about this, but a couple of my friends swear by the Prego Pizza, glass of red wine, foot massage combo.

Hang in there! Can't wait to read about the big day!

Love this post. I know I will be there in at the most two weeks. Being 36 1/2 weeks I feel like I am just waiting for a little light to go on telling me I am in labor. I know its still a bit early. Pizza, Sex, Yoga, pressure points. Dh told me he is going to take me up to the mountain in our truck and four wheel around a parking lot until I go into labor. lol You will go soon. Probably when you least expect it!

We have a place where I live where the eggplant parm is said to make women go into labor...they even have a page on their web site dedicated to their "eggplant parm babies"! I didn't get a chance to try it, though. I hope you go into labor soon!
