Kickety kick kick kick

The last couple of days have brought a significant upsurge in kicking -- both in frequency and strength. It's cool but totally weird -- last night I was in the tub at my hotel (dreaming of my soon-to-be-tub in my house) and could see my tummy jumping around THROUGH THE BUBBLES. It probably didn't help that I had raided the minibar for M&M's right before bathtime. Minibars are dangerous.

I'm curious, for those of you who have been through this -- how do you keep a straight face in a meeting when your belly suddenly starts doing the Alien thing? Do you get used to it after a while and kind of forget it's happening?

I don't know how to keep a straight face yet - but all the movement completely freaks me out.

I'm glad you mentioned the alien thing because that is exactly how I think of it...not bubbles and butterflies... it's like my stomach has a life all of its' own (well, I guess technically it does!)

I was in a kindergarten classroom working during my last pregnancy, so I didn't have to be terribly serious. The conference room would be different!

And now, with the three kicking boys, I just laugh and watch. Nothing else to do on bed rest, right? So glad you are enjoying the uterine party!

I just smiled to myself and silently thanked God for the little miracle that was moving inside me. I LOVED feeling my little man moving around and especially enjoyed watching my stomach move all the time, lol.

When I am laying here and it is just me, I just smile and talk to the babies. If my hubby is here and he doesnt point it out (which is usual) I will show him and laugh. With friends, it depends. Some are skeeved by the whole 'alien thing' so I just put my hands on my belly and enjoy it internally. I would do that in a meeting I think.

I was getting prepped for a MFM u/s yesterday and it happened. The tech was like "Oh my god- look at that!" You'd think they see it all, but it was kind of neat to see that happen, even to a seasoned pro.

Haha...I just read this after coming out of a meeting where that exact thing just happened. I was so surprised by my shifting, rolling belly that I made an audible, "whoa!", but luckily no one seemed to catch it. I'm not sure if you ever get used to it. I still have a few months to go, but I highly doubt it will ever be common place. Alien belly has never ceased to amaze me!

Thanks for dropping by my digs!

Just do a Randy Jackson (from American Idol) - pick up the piece of paper/document from your meeting and hide your face behind it. No one can ever tell you were smiling or laughing hysterically! ;-) LOL!!! By the way, I just started following your blog! Wonderful stuff!

I haven't got used to it although I think it's the nicest feeling in the world (except when it wakes me up which it does several times a night now at 31 weeks!)

I know what you mean it is weird in meetings or at work when everyone is staring at their screens looking professional and you have all this involuntary and very visible lurching going on. Yesterday I was at my desk and it started happening and it was so obvious I just burst out laughing, my male boss (who also went through ivf for he and his wife's first baby) and my female colleague just started staring and laughing along with me! It was so nice, I felt like my little one was putting on a show! I think these strong movements now the baby is big are are the thing I will really miss most once he is born but I hope I remember the feeling forever. Congratulations on your little one!
